SPOTLIGHT OVERVIEW
What good is a ‘Plain Jane’ when you need your product imagery to make people stop and take notice. Bridging the gap between the real and the imaginary I have spent several years bringing real objects into digital environments and landscapes, and most excitingly bringing the digital into the real world.

THINK BIG
Digital ENVIRONMENT

Combination of simplistic 3D 'tunnel' created in sketch up, combined with high-poly model created from R&D CAD data to create this futuristic digital hero image.
Print reinvented
Digital & photographic COMPOSITION

A common challenge faced in my previous role, was a strict product embargo prior to launch ‘resulting in no access to the new product. Without the means to coordinate a product photoshoot, campaign hero imagery would rely on integrating a standard ‘Plain Jane’ product image shot in our factory in Japan into a hero scene.
The only options were to either carry out a location photoshoot or create a new environment, using 3D modelling software, into which the supplied product image could be imposed. Although not an ideal method this challenge did provide an opportunity take a lateral approach when delivering product launch campaigns.
Rise to the challenge
Digital & photographic COMPOSITION

A similar challenge as Print ReInvented only this time reversed, was having limited access to a prototype model which did not have any available CAD data or product imagery.

In this instance the decision taken was to create the environment first using a basic poly model to catch light and cast shadow. Then drop product imagery into the comp live at the photography studio.

bringing digital to life

Okay, so this wasn't a hero image created for any product campaign - but it is cool :)
